DAY 87 - 15/05/2010 - Howard Springs, NT

Today we visited Crocasaurus Cove.

We had lots of fun here.

The feeding of the large crocs was a sight to see especially when 5 metre Chopper missed his chicken and his jaw snapped shut with enormous force. The sound of that was awesome.

Croc fishing was fun. We all had turns feeding 3 year old saltys meat on a fishing hook. They were fiesty little creatures.

Crocasaurus Cove prides itself as having the largest reptile display in Australia.

The dreaded Brown Snake

Alicia's favourite, Pig Faced Turtle

We watched handlers feed these reptile thru the glass display window and then they brought reptiles for us to pat and hold. We held an albino Blue Tongue Lizard, a spikey looking lizard, a miniture snake and a large Olive Python about the same size as I witnessed in the toilet in Mataranka. We got to hold them for quite some time.

Smooth to touch

Very cool to hold

Not sure about this one mum

Say Cheers!

mmmmmm nice shoes

Its the snake chain

The girls also got to hold and were photographed holding a 10 month old Salt Water Crocodile. This was a highlight of their day.

I was so proud of my girls today. They were so confident with the animals and handled them like experienced handlers.
