We packed some snacks and headed to Ayers Rock. Today we are going to do some of the walks.
Our first walk was to the Mutitjulu Waterhole. Its a 1km walk to this waterhole. It is very peaceful here. There were rock paintings along the way.

Our next walk is the Lungkata walk which is a 4km return walk. We didn't make it right to the end but we got about 3/4 of the way. The girls were hungry and it was getting very hot and we still had another walk to do.
The rock up close is amazing and huge. There were many sacred parts called mens business and womens business. We were not allowed to photograph these areas and we respected their wishes. The womens business area was very beautiful.

Having a quick rest
Before we commenced the Mala walk we stopped for some morning tea and watch people climb the rock.
The Mala walk to Kantju Gorge was only 2km return. There were lots of Anangu rock art displays along here and Kantju Gorge was amazing. I know I keep saying that everything is amazing but it really is. You have to see it to beleive it. I never thought I would get so much out of a rock but we all did. It is one of those things that everytime you look at it, it looks impressive, no matter how many times you see it. The feelings you feel here are quite spiritual. Up close to the rock is when you realise how big it is. Massive gum trees beside the walls look like small shrubs. The sheer vertical walls and the height of the gorge wall is magestic.
