DAY 82 - 10/05/2010 - Edith Falls, NT & Wangi Falls (Litchfield Nat. Pk), NT

Wangi Falls is situated in the Litchfield National Park. We are staying here for the next 2 days while we explore the national park. We are camped right near the falls itself. Swimming in Wangi Falls waterhole is off limits due to crocs. Usually, people are able to swim here but due to the very wet season, they received large amounts of rain fall. Deep waterholes usually bring with it salty's and rangers havn't finished surveying this waterhole for crocs. There are big fences up stopping people from going into the water. We did see 2 people come back from swimming in it this afternoon. I think they were locals and probably don't fear warning signs like we do. All I know is crocodiles are not discriminate and will eat anyone, locals or tourist, if they so desire.

The Wangi Falls are pretty. We sat on the viewing platform and stared out into the water hoping to spot a croc. I reckon I saw one but noone beleived me.

We went for a walk up and over the top of the waterfall, over to the other side then back down again. This walk is almost 2kms long and Lilly did it without being carried. Great work Lilly!
