DAY 62 - 20/04/2010 - Port Augusta, SA & Bon Bon, SA

We left Port Augusta this morning and headed north towards Coober Pedy.

Topped up fuel in Glendambo.

There isn't much to look at along the highway other than arid terraine and a few trees. Eagles gliding overhead takes our focus off the road and gives us something to look at. You see the occasional lizard and if your lucky you see a massive Wedgetail Eagle having a feast on some road kill. What is beautiful is the salt lakes that appear from time to time that looks like an illusion and breaks the arid landscape setting. We stop to take in these views.

We have been driving since we left Port Augusta and its now mid afternoon. A big storm is brewing in the disctance and Coober Pedy is still 168km away. We notice a few vans parked at the Bon Bon rest area. We decide that we too will rest here for the night.

Mother nature gave us an awesome lightening display and ferocious winds but no rain.
