DAY 70 - 28/04/2010 - Kings Canyon, NT

Today we went on walks thru Kings Canyon. Warren, Alicia and Taylah did the Canyon Rim Walk which is 6km long and estimated to take 3-4 hours. This walk is rated as a hard walk. They did it in 2 hours 10 minutes. The walk involved steep stair climbs and flat walking tracks, lots of rocks and a visit to the Garden of Eden waterhole. They enjoyed this walk a lot.

They could see Lilly and I from the top. Thats the small black spec in the centre of the photo.

Lilly and I did the easy Creek Walk which is a 2km walk at the bottom of the Canyon. You walk along the creek until you come to a waterhole at the bottom of the Kings Canyon Gorge. There are lots of giant cycads and ghost gums which line the creek. We also saw lots of different kinds of birds and cool looking lizards along the way. It took us an hour to complete. During our walk, Lilly greeted all passer by's with a "Gday mate".

When we returned from our walks, the girls cooled down in the resort pool and had a play in the playground.

The dingos are out and about again today. The moon is large and full so no doubt they will be howling their lungs out tonight.
