DAY 142 - 09/07/2010 - Bea Bea, WA & Karijini, WA

Karijini National Park here we come.

Today we arrive in Karijini and we are camping at the Dales Camp Ground within the national park. There is nothing here other than enviro toilets.

We go about doing bits and pieces such as emptying out the roof top bag to air out as its been leaking and it rained last night. The girls do some more school work and I plod around doing other things. After lunch we decide that its time to do some site seeing.

There are falls, pools and the Dales Gorge walk right near the entrance to the camp ground. We don't have time to do the Gorge walk this afternoon but time to check out the falls and the pool.

View of the falls from the top lookout

The walk down to Fortescue Falls is a steep decline of rough natural steps. We stop at various lookouts along the way and take in the scenery.

A further 300m along a trail from the bottom of the falls leads to Fern Pool.

This swimmable waterhole is a natural spring fed pool. It is too cold for us to swim but there are kids in the water when we arrive.

Tonight is extremely cold. The flannel pj's, jackets and ugg's come out of hiding.
