DAY 137 - 04/07/2010 - Port Hedland, WA

Our friends are still in limbo with their car troubles so we decide to stay a little longer until they get their issues sorted and keep them company and offer them moral support in this god forsaken town.

This morning Chrissy and I decided to head to the amenities to dye our hair. We got chatting and without realising we left the hair dye in for double the recommended time. Ooops. Its pretty dark but I'm happy with the result. Its good to freshen up.

The weather has turned for the worse. Its cold, windy and raining. Everyone is so bored so we google "things to do in Port Hedland". All there is is mine tours, no thanks. We were hoping to find a bowling alley but nothing. We still havn't tried Chicken Treat and we've been meaning to try it. No one has had lunch yet so what better time than now. Chicken Treat is like a KFC and is everywhere here in NT and the west coast.

Off we go to Chicken Treat for some lunch. What a mistake that was. The food was awful. It was so greasy and tasteless.

We need to redeem ourselves so off we go to Macers for some cake and coffee. The kids are happy with this because they have a huge play area here.

We sit around Macers eating cheesecake, drinking coffee and reading magazines and newspapers. Waiting for the rain to stop but it doesn't.

No one wants to go back to the van park so we take all the kids over to Kmart to check out the huge toysale and pass more time.

Time to go back home and sort out dinner.
