DAY 162 - 29/07/2010 - Carvarvon, WA & Edaggee Rest Area, WA

We left Carnarvon and did not stop till we reached Edaggee Rest stop. We were only stopping for a loo break which turned into a lunch break. We really liked it here so we thought we would stay for the night. We weren't the first ones here already but soon after many more showed up.

While the girls were catching up on some school work, Waz and I took Lilly for a walk in search of firewood for tonights fire.

Lilly's big find

Its hard yakka

While in the scrub getting wood, 3 wild emus decided to surprise us. They weren't too happy to see us but Lilly was stoked seeing them. Right or wrong Lilly wanted to pat them and ride them like horsey's. Everytime Lilly got closer to them they ran off. She got upset with this and it took us some time to convince her that we had to go back to the van.

The fire tonight kept us warm on this chilly night. Hopefully we should have enough wood for tomorrow morning also.

A couple from the Hunter Valley in NSW that had recognised us from Karratha, joined us for a couple of boozy nightcaps by the fire. Lovely couple but never did get their names.
