DAY 155 - 22/07/2010 - Barradale, WA - Exmouth - Cape Range, WA

We arrived in Exmouth this morning and go straight to the visitor centre to get accommodation info. There isn't much accommodation available and what is available are unpowered sites and they are so expensive. Quadruple the price of any other place we've been to.

As it turns out Yardie Homestead has an overflow section, half the price and right near the entrance to Cape Range which is where we wanted to be anyways.

I have come to realise, everything in Exmouth carries a surcharge.

Cape Range National Park is the gateway to the Ningaloo Reef Marine Park. The coral reef is walking/swimming distance from the shore and the snorkeling here is meant to be unreal. Can't wait.

We checked into Yardie's overflow area and are happy with our spot. We set up and then we head off siteseeing.

Firstly we drive back up the point to visit the SS Mildura shipwreck. This ship sunk in 1907 and is visible from the beach. Here we also combed the beach for seashells.

Then we drove up to the lighthouse and took in the amazing scenery of parts of the coastline.

We checked out T-Bone and Lakeside which are popular beaches. We walked from T-Bone to Lakeside and explored rock pools and found more beautiful shells to add to our growing collection.

Our last stop was the huge sand dunes right near our caravan park. Here the girls boogey boarded down the dunes and we watched the sun set on the water.

weeeeee

Lilly has had enough of waiting for her turn and rolls down
