Our full day was planned. Firstly Lilly has her doctor appointment then off to the Rowes to celebrate Derby Day and spend the night.
Waz took Lilly to see Dr Lam while I organised myself and the other two.
I received a phone call from Waz to say that Dr Lam is off work today and they have resceduled her appointment for Monday. What do we do??? We are so worried it will turn into a full blown infection like it did in WA. Dr Lam was going to lance it again today.
After much deliberation we decided to take Lilly to Westmead Childrens Hospital. They'll know what to do. We drop Alicia and Taylah with my mum and off we go to the Hospital.
The receptionist is an annoying pain in the rectum. Little Miss Know It All. She asked us why we were wanting to see a doctor. Well, we were trying to decribe what was going on and what happened in WA and she just kept cutting us off saying "I know, I know" and "yep yep" and then she was giving us her opinion and her personal experience that by that stage we just blocked her out, ignoring her and hoping she would just shut up and put us through to the Triage.
We finally got to see the doctor but luckily we did not wait too long. The doctor was going to lance it again but then she consulted with an assistant surgeon over the phone who suggested we wait till Monday to do it because it wasn't ready to be lanced yet and to stop her antibiotics. I can't believe this was recommended without actually seeing her. How would she know if it was ready enough or not. We are not really happy with this recommendation but not much else we can do at this stage. Lilly seems to be happy and coping well but we decide to not stop her antibiotics until tomorrow, being Sunday.
We finally make it to the Rowe's at 7pm. We missed the whole Derby Day thing but it was unavoidable even though today was a total waste of time as far as getting anything done about Lilly's absys.
The night was great. The Shaw's were also there and it was a fun night. Full of laughs and good company. The kids had fun playing till really late.
