DAY 244 - 18/10/2010 - Vale Park, SA & Murray River National Park, SA

It was cold and drizzling when we left Vale Park.

We came to the decision this morning that we would travel thru the Barossa Valley, into the Riverland region and follow the Murray River into Victoria.

We stopped in Blanchtown for a rest. Here is where we get the first glimpse of the Murray River.

The drive so far is very scenic. Rolling green hills and thriving vineyards. We stop for some olive tasting and make some purchases. The Wolf Blass Winery is very flash and I must say is the most impressive. Love the Wolf Blass.

Next stop is Kingston on Murray. Here we visit the Banrock Station Vineyard. Bought some wine and salami for later.

Lunch was spent in Monash at an adventure park. Not as good as the one in St Kilda but impressive all the same. The girls have a good play.

We reach the town of Berri and stop off at the Berri juice factory outlet and here I purchase some showbags for the girls. The showbags contain a mix variety of Berri Juice products.

After some advice from a local ranger we decide to set up camp in the Murray River National Park.

We are the only campers here. We pick a spot right next to the river. It is very peaceful here. Birds chirping, the sound of running water and kookaburras are the only sounds that break the silence. No rain and a very light breeze keep the mozies at bay.

At 7.53pm I am sitting by the fire, writing my daily journal entry, Pink is blaring from the stereo and the girls are dancing on a fallen tree trunk. We are in a beautiful place, the wine glasses are full and the nibblies are plattered up.

LIFES GOOD!!!!!!!!
