DAY 246 - 20/10/2010 - Euston, NSW & Narrandera, NSW

Early wake up in Euston and bacon and eggs for brekky.

We pack up and are on our way.

We come across this sign along the way.

And lots of pretty purple flowers everywhere.

Lilly catching up on some zzzzzzz's. Its a hard life.

Driving along for quite a while but its time to stop for lunch. Everyones getting pekish. Firstly we look around town and toss up whether to go see shearers shear sheep which means we would end up staying in Hay tonight or just have lunch and continue on. Its a family vote and its unanymous. No shearing show, lunch and then move on. Lunch at Hay Park it is.

We continue driving and get as far as Narrandera. The town has a typical country feel with old buildings about and there are coloured lights that zig zag across buildings along the main drag. It reminds me very much of Orange. All the plantantion is lush green from the recent rains.

Our beautiful views

Its not flash but its cheap and it will do for one night.

There's cheap camping at the showground. There are about 4 other caravans here scattered about. Everyone staying here seems pretty friendly and the caretaker is about 150 years old and he has these vicious dogs that are behind a fence and protect his permanent trailer. They scared the bejesus out of me when I had to go up to his place to pay for the nights accommodation. The ceilings of the ablutions is full of spider webs and this freaks the girls out a little but they get used to it, sort of. Extremely short showers may be an indication of this.

After dinner we decided to go for a walk into town to check out if all the coloured lights are lit up. Its a nice night and we could do with some exercise. Unfortunately they were not on but we went for a walk along the main drag anyways. Its a pretty town with lots of old buildings.

Checking out a local fountain near the Anzac Memorial.

Lilly surprised us with a new saying today. When we give her something that she likes she says "thanks, your the best". Awesome!!!!
