DAY 215 - 20/09/2010 - Secret Harbour, WA & Busselton, WA

Busselton is less than 200km south of Secret Harbour and this is where we are headed today.

We followed the Tuart Forest tourist drive into Busselton. Along this route there were an abundance of wild white lilys on both sides of the road and in amongst the trees. We pulled over and picked one for Lilly to have.

We arrived in Busselton by mid afternoon and checked into the Kookaburra Caravan Park. This van park is situated across the road from the water, a huge playground and only 5 minutes walk to the popular landmark, the Busselton Jetty.

The Busselton Jetty

This afternoon we all went for a walk along the waterfront hoping to walk the length of the 2km long jetty and visit the underwater aquarium at the other end. Unfortunately when we got there we discovered that the jetty was closed for renovations so instead we walked along the esplanade a short distance and then headed into town for some ice-cream. We also checked out the local surf shop that was having a sale and popped into Woolys to get something for dinner tonight.

We noticed on our walk that there are some really beautiful old buildings in this area.

On our way back to the van from our walk we decided to take the girls to the park for a play. They had such a good time playing here on all the equipment.

They enjoyed this one

Our friends, Simon, Marie and their girls Jade and Jasmine live in Busselton and they met us tonight for some drinks and ended up having dinner with us. Great to see them again and we've planned to catch up again when we are in Margaret River. We have planned to go away together and stay in Margaret River for the long weeked.

The sky looked so pretty tonight.

Tonight the girls enjoyed playing Headbandz. Minor problem...... Lilly could tell what some of the cards from the pictures and would continually tell the other girls what they had. So they had to start over a lot. Very funny to watch.
