DAY 230 - 05/10/2010 - Lucky Bay, WA - Nullarbor Crossing begins - Dundas Nature Reserve, WA

We left Cape Le Grand, drove into town for some supplies and fuel and then headed for the town of
Norseman.

We stopped along the way at some quirky towns, Grass Patch and Salmon Gums. The pubs seem to be the most happening places in these sort of towns.

We arrived in Norseman just in time for some lunch. Everyone is hungry and sick of driving. We chose to have lunch in the small and only park in Norseman. There is lots of Aboriginal kids playing here having a water fight. There were a couple of white girls playing in amongst the Aboriginal kids and they had the filthiest mouths on them. They said some things that would make a biker blush.

We let the girls have a quick play but we didn't want to stay too long. It didn't take long for the group of boys to notice Alicia and they egged one to go over to her and say hi. She said hi back and then turned away. He walked off all shy and the other boys were laughing. She thought they were laughing at her. Still too young to understand what was going on and that suits us just fine.

We leave Norseman and start our Nullarbor adventure along the Eyre Highway.

Not long after we came across a huge herd of wild camels. As we neared closer they moved away from the road but we managed to get some photos of them. Awesome!

78km past Norseman, in the Dundas Nature Reserve, we arrive at the 10 Mile Rocks rest area which was recommended to us by other travellors. There are toilets, picnic tables and bbqs here.

The girls and Waz firstly collect wood for tonights fire and then Alicia, Taylah and I play Rummikub which comes to an abrupt end due to sudden wind gusts.

Heres me enjoying a couple of wines and playing Rummikub with my girls.

Pre wind gusts

Instead of playing in the dirt as usual, Lilly enjoys her afternoon playing with Bratz dolls on the bed.

The winds let up a little and give us enough time to get a fire going so we can cook our burger patties.

We put the fire out in anticipation for more sudden wind gusts and retreat indoors to play more Rummikub.
