DAY 30 - 19/03/2010 - Batemans Bay, NSW & Narooma, NSW
We left Batemans Bay but not without incident. We experienced some servo rage with some locals. Once that was over we got a full tank of fuel and headed South on the highway.
Next stop, Narooma. We found a caravan park, Surfbeach Resort which is overlooking the beach and the Glasshouse Rocks. The view was spectacular.
We sold our house, vehicle, left our jobs, purchased a caravan, pulled the kids out of school, registered for home schooling, put all our personal belongings into storage, kissed our family and friends goodbye and set off around Australia on an adventure of a lifetime. We had no itinerary other than the direction of travel being South, that our first stop was Byron Bay and we were going for roughly 12 months.
Are we mad?......I don't know! Are we going through a mid-life crisis early?.......Maybe! Would we live to regret it if we didn't do it?........Probably!
Its very cleche but life is too short and I think we were put on Earth to do more than just work to pay the bills. For us it was time to invest 12 months into us, our family. We have the rest of our lives to work, pay bills, pay the mortgage, follow interest rate rises on tv, do housework, go to school and everything else we do day in day out.
This blog is a personal day by day account of our adventure. Sort of like my personal journal. Those interested can have a read and look at our snapshots if they choose but I did this blog mainly for us so that we can look back and reminisce.
