DAY 22 - 11/03/2010 - Jervis Bay, NSW

We went for a drive and checked out Murray's Beach. Looks very much like Green Patch. We also drove into town and checked out Huskinson and Vincentia. The beaches are not as nice as ones in the National Park. Hyams beach is beautiful.

We visited the old lighthouse ruins at Cape St George. We got an eiry feeling up there at the lighthouse site. The view was breathtaking. There are interesting facts regarding the lighthouse. Many people directly or indirectly associated with this lighthouse had died an accidental death or died due to sickness. Some of the stories were that a 9 year old boy accidentally fell off the cliff to his death, the lighthouse keepers daughter, Harriot Parker, aged 19 was accidentally shot by her friend. A lighthouse keeper was kicked in the head by his horse and died. There were many more stories. The place felt haunted. The grave of Harriot Parker was in the Green Patch gravesite right next to the amenities block. Spooky.
