DAY 100 - 28/05/2010 - Howard Springs, NT

We needed to get out and do something today. We have not visited the wharf precinct yet and we've heard you can get great fish and chips there. So off we go. The views across the water here are fantastic. There are huge pearling ships docked here. All of us except for Alicia get barra and chips. The servings were huge and the food was great, in particular Alicia's chicken sniz burger, looked yummy and it was huge. We were salivating over her huge burger and she wouldn't give us a bite.

Taking in the view. The lack of barriers made me very nervous.

Today we visited the Darwin Military Museum located at East Point. It was really interesting. I didn't even know that Darwin was on the verge of invasion from the Japs in 1942 and that many parts of Darwin in particular the wharf was bombed. I also didn't know that the Hiroshima bombing also had something to do with the near invasion of Darwin.

We left East Point and came across a huge playground next to Lake Alexander. Here the kids had a play.

We went back home, cooked dinner and watched the Dragons smash Parra 30 nil. Waz was very happy with the result. Many Parra supporters back home were not and they're text messages was proof of that.

Tonight we met another lovely couple, Sandra and Kevin. They are camped across from us. They have been on the road for 7 years and are staying at this caravan park long term because of work. We joined them and Chris and Leigh for drinks tonight and had a fun night full of laughs. Sandra and Kevin are very down to earth people and easy to get along with.
