Instead we and it seemed every other tourist in town went to check out the surf shops and outlets in town. We found a few bargains and then headed back to camp.
The girls got out their cricket set and had a play with other kids in the grassed area directly opposite from us. They also enjoyed kicking around the footy with the boys next door. Waz was not too impressed with the type of footy it was because it was an AFL ball.
On our way to check out the beach
Later in the afternoon we went for a walk down to the beach. It was too cold for us to swim but there were lots of surfers in the water waiting to catch their big wave. It seems that everyone here surfs.
Lilly checks the swell.........
and is excited
and goes for a closer look
Lilly decided that looking wasn't enough and went into the water in all her clothes. She face planted right into an oncoming wave and got saturated. The water was freezing but this didn't seem to bother her at all except her lips went a bright purple. She walked back to the van without complaint.
