We have finally left Geraldton and everyone was soooo excited.
We stopped at beautiful Jurien Bay for lunch and a rest from the car.
Jurien Bay WA
I think Lilly has forgotten how to travel and after a couple of hours of driving wanted out. We didn't realise how beautiful Jurien Bay is until we went for a walk along the water. I could live here. Thats how much I loved it. Its a quiet seaside town with lots of new housing development going on. Its known for its jetty wrecks which look awesome in contrast to the turquoise water and white sandy beach.
After we left Jurien Bay we drove to the Nambung National Park to visit the Desert Pinnacles. Firstly we went up to the lookout and then we opted to do the walk rather than the drive thru.
View from the lookout
Stopping continuously to take photographs and take in the scenery.
It was very interesting and different. Scientists are baffled at how they came about but we thought they looked very much like old termite mounds. Their shape and texture were consistent with our theory.
We drive a little further down the coast and settle for the night at a free stay, Moore River Rest Area. It is night fall by the time we pull in and set up in the dark. It doesn't take us long and shortly after we are having our gourmet dinner of canned spaghetti on toast and watching a movie.
It was very dark outside because there was no moon or lights and we were surrounded by tall trees. Lilly heard Warren telling me how dark it was and she got up from her chair, opened the van door and looked out and said the "sh" word and closed the door and sat back down. Very funny and very wrong. Waz and I were shocked. Apparently she says that word quite frequently, so the girls tell us. We'll have to put an end to that.
After the movie ends its bed for all. Early night in anticipation for an early wake up.
